One Direction, Jessie J and Adele among nominees for 2012 Brit Awards

The nominees for the 2012 Brit Awards were announced today and newcomers One Direction have come out with their very first nomination! Up for British Single of the Year for their track What Makes You Beautiful, One Direction members have already taken to Twitter to thank fans for their support over the past year, with Niall Horan tweeting “yess!! we’ve been nominated for a brit! thank you all soo much for your support..voting lines open real soon ,soo lets goo..would be a dream”.

Adele, Florence and The Machine, and Jessie J all face off for the title of British Female Solo Artist of the Year, while Beyoncé, Bjork, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and our very own Feist are all nominated for International Female Solo Artist.
