It’s true. When we sat down with Taylor Momsen and Ben Phillips from The Pretty Reckless the subject matter of our talk got so exciting that a member of their team actually dropped his pants. See for yourself in the interview below, but be warned; I never lie about pants dropping.
In addition to clothing removal we talked to rock’s best new band about their Oasis connection, including a special message from Liam Gallagher to Momsen, their new album Light Me Up, the meaning behind their album cover and of course, we snuck a lil Gossip Girl in for all you Jenny Humphrey fans.
Light Me Up, the first full-length studio album from the band, was released in Canada yesterday and it’s already easily one of the best albums of 2011. With thought provoking and dark lyrics, hard-hitting guitar riffs, heavy hitting drums, and Momsen’s voice reminiscent of The Runaways teen front woman Cherie Currie, The Pretty Reckless seem to have time-traveled from Seattle in 1993. With a refreshing dose of authenticity, The Pretty Reckless have arrived just in time to breathe new life into the music industry.
Taylor and Ben talk about their first headlining tour, Oasis and watching videos of their fans covering Pretty Reckless songs.
Taylor and Ben talk about their album cover art, working with producer Kato Khandwala and we get a cameo from drummer Jamie Perkins.
And now it’s time for the no-pants part of our interview.Tweet
