Paris Sets A Record

Apparently the next edition of the Guinness Book of World Records will include a category for Most Overrated Person. And that person is Paris Hilton. Gasp!

I have a couple of beefs with this (as an aside, beef is such a great word, isn’t it?). First of all, by putting Paris in their book for all of time, they’re just giving her more attention and thus adding to her state of over-ratedness (is that a word? Meh). Second, I wouldn’t say Paris is overrated. When was the last time someone actually rated something she’s done as being GOOD? Anything over mediocre? Like, “Stars Are Blind” was the best she’s gotten, and that was all, “what? Paris did this? It’s kind of ok!”

In conclusion: overrated? No. Overhyped? YES.
