Peaches “Free Pussy Riot” (Video)

The message is all there in the title and chorus: Free Pussy Riot. After being detained and held in prison by Russian authorities over singing a protest song about president-elect Vladimir Putin, the three members of the punk group have gained global attention calling for their freedom. One of the supporters is Peaches, who has written a song and made a video that also features appearances by the Hives, Lykke Li, Kate Nash, Miike Snow, Margaret Cho and Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and footage from last week’s rally in Berlin, where 400 people showed up.

A protest will take place this Friday in Toronto at the Russian consolate, which you can read more about here.
