Pemberton Festival: …Annnnnnd We’re Done!

Whew.

Wendy and I are literally walking zombies. We’ve spent the last 96 hours driving, waiting in traffic, waiting in line, milling through crowds, dancing, accosting strangers and enjoying tons of great tuneage. There were a few sleep shifts tucked away in there, but really nothing to shout about. We’re spent. DONE WITH FESTIVALS. That is, until I head to Lollapalooza in four days. Ahhhhhhhh. *gulp*

We adored our time in beautiful British Columbia. We breathed in the freshest, purest air imaginable (in Vancouver) as well as air so nasty it was fit for a chinchilla dustbath (on site in Pemberton). Seriously.

For three days at Pemberton, we roughed it somewhat. We left the festival grounds absolutely FILTHY at the end of each day. We walked through miles of MULCH for crying out loud. Thank god for high pressure hotel shower nozzles.

Vancouver, Whistler and Pemberton were very good to us. The people were friendly, sweet and accommodating. Everyone seemed to get along. We saw dozens of hitchhikers, people helping each other out and partying together. No one snubbed us when we accosted them with a video camera - in fact, they welcomed us into their tents and circles. We’re sad to be leaving the stunning landscapes behind - there’s truly nothing even remotely like this back in Toronto.

Next year at Pemberton (we’re told headliners have already approached the festival organizers!), we *might* consider really roughing it by braving the campgrounds for a night or two. We’ll see. But until then…
