Phoenix Writing Score for Sofia Coppola Movie

Cute couple collaboration. Phoenix is writing the score for Sofia Coppola’s new movie Somewhere. Their lead singer, Thomas Mars is the boyfriend and baby Daddy to the talented filmmaker.
“She asked us to do some music, very in the spirit of [our song] ‘Love Like a Sunset,’ so we tried to put that track and elements of the track in the movie, and it worked well,” Phoenix guitarist Christian Mazzalai told MTV Radio.
The movie is about bad-boy actor Johnny Marco played by Stephen Dorff (of the Brit Brit “My Prerogative” video fame) who gets a surprise visit from his 11-year-old daughter.
“It was more about trying to make a sound that fits with a Ferrari and the city of Los Angeles. It was more of an engineer work than a composer,” Mars told the BBC
Their song, “Too Young” was also featured in the Coppola movie Lost in Translation in 2003. Somewhere will be in theatres sometime in the fall.
