There is a reason why Billboard just named Pink one of the top three pop artists over the past 20 years. Few musicians continue to push boundaries both in their music and visuals so far into their career, and Pink shows no signs of slowing down.
In her video for Try, the second single off Pink’s sixth studio album The Truth About Love, the platinum blonde singer gives a performance worthy of a spot in the top 10 of So You Think You Can Dance with an aggressive and emotional contemporary routine. Known for her daring acrobatics in her live stage show, Pink ups the ante with a physically grueling performance that includes the singer being thrown and dropped repeatedly by her partner.
Dancing in an abandoned house as well as in the middle of the desert, Pink and her partner cover one another in paint to show the marks they leave in their relationship. The video culminates in a dramatic scene of the two running towards one another, with the video cutting out before they collide.
Known for her light-hearted tongue in cheek videos, Try shows the more serious side of Pink, channeling past efforts like Family Portrait and Perfect. Directed by Floria Sigismondi and choreographed by The Golden Boyz, Pink said that shooting Try “…was the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire career. I never wanted it to end. It’s my favorite video ever.”
