Pitt and Jolie donate $1 million to Haiti relief

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $1 million towards relief in Haiti.

The couple’s Jolie-Pitt Foundation made the donation towards Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontiéres, whose three hospitals were seriously damaged during the earthquake.

The two gave a joint statement addressing the disaster. “It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,” said Jolie.

Added Pitt: “We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care.”
