PLL Episode 3: Forged Letters, “Anita” and Even Cupid Tells Lies

Jenna gives Aria an art lesson, Hanna plays cupid, Spencer’s scared and Toby’s lookin’ fine. Watch out “A”, these girls are developing lives outside of homicidal maniacs!

Emily’s the only one to get a message from “A” and the psycho goes old school with snail mail. Emily needs a reason to stay in Rosewood and a “let’s just be friends” answer on the swimming scholarship isn’t enough for Mrs. Fields.

At first (and to an overjoyed Hanna – don’t you just love her – “hold on, let me see if I have a stamp!”) Emily decides to go the forgery route, but backs down once her mother finally comes around and accepts her lesbianism. But “A” isn’t so quick to let go and sends the forged letter for her.

So Ems is sticking around to be “A”’s play thing for a little while longer.

Aria becomes Anita when she attends art classes at the local college. When she’s not openly making out with her former teacher Ezra while his ex-finance watches in the shadows (did you see that!?!) she’s keeping mum when she realizes Jenna’s in the same class.

If Jenna is “A”, then she has a whole new reason to hate Aria. Jenna’s goal is to make their lives hell for blinding her. Thinking the new girl is “Anita”, Jenna breaks down and cries about how hurt she is and how much she misses seeing the sun. When she realizes she’s breaking down about the accident in front of one of the girls who caused it…..JENNA IS PISSED!

I think angry Jenna might be scarier than “A”. Unless they’re the same person….then “A” became a whole lot freakier!

Hanna plays cupid, and her parents and Lucas play her love-struck fools. Daddy dearest is having issues with his finance while Mommy dearest grows closer to taking him back. Add in one deleted make-up message from finance and poof! The Marin’s are closer to being a family once again.

While the girls are all living their separate lives, Hanna wants someone else to chill with besides Mona, so she joins the yearbook club with Lucas. Being a good friend and finally making up for the awful way she treated him at the dance (in her defense, she was acting on “A”s orders! Don’t hate on Hanna!), she hooks him up with the new girl (totally based on lies but eh, whattyagonnado?) on the yearbook team.

Love is in the air…just not for Hanna.

But Spencer’s feeling the magic as Toby finally tells her he loves her. Oh, and he got a job working for Jason DiLaurentis.

But the fact Jason used to be friends with – and that he may or may not be hiding – Ian (whose bloody issues were those?) and the fact Spencer remembered Alison may have been blackmailing both guys…I think this job might be better suited to a person who wasn’t accused of murdering Alison.

Spencer pawns Melissa’s missing wedding ring (justified, since Melissa said she wouldn’t have Spencer’s back if it came to blows) for money to get Toby a truck so he can take another job.

But Melissa has one more secret up her sleeve: she’s secretly meeting her old flame Wren (remember him from season 1?). She’s using him to get drugs. Why would she need drugs if she already has a doctor for her pregnancy? Oh yeah, her murdering husband is still alive after getting pushed down a bell tower and almost dying…so he probably needs the painkillers.

Is Ian alive in Jason’s house? Does Melissa know? Is Toby in danger? Is Jenna involved?

Got a secret, can you keep it? Swear this one you’ll save. Better lock it, in your pocket, taking this one to the grave. If I show you then I know you won’t tell what I said. Cause two can keep a secret, if one of them is dead…
