Polaris Music Prize Spotlight: Karkwa

With only eight days until one of the coolest award ceremony’s graces our channel with its awesomeness, Polaris is giving you fine people a sampler of the ten amazingly-rad musicians on the Polaris 2010 Short List! Today we shine the spotlight on Karkwa!

Who: A five-piece indie-rock group formed in Montreal, Karkwa has released three albums since forming in 1998.

Sounds Like: Coldplay, Arcade Fire and The Stills

Didjya Know: Karkwa is a phonetic interpretation of the French word carquois, meaning quiver of arrows.
