With only two days left until one of the coolest award ceremony’s graces our channel with its awesomeness, Polaris is giving you fine people a sampler of the ten amazingly-rad musicians on the Polaris 2010 Short List! Today we shine the spotlight on Tegan and Sara!

Who: Identical twins Tegan and Sara Quin grew up in Alberta, Calgary and began recording and writing music together when they were only 15 years old. Since releasing their first of six albums in 1999 the duo has toured with everyone from Neil Young to City and Colour and have had their songs covered by the likes The White Stripes. They’ve recently begun working as producers on other artists albums, including Fences and Hesta Prynn. Their music has been featured on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, The L Word and The Hills.

Sounds Like: Metric, Feist, Rilo Kiley

Didjya Know: The sisters often write their songs separately and then perform together on their albums and in concerts.
