Polaris Music Spotlight: Arcade Fire

With only one day left until one of the coolest award ceremonies graces our site with its awesomeness, Polaris is giving you fine people a sampler of the ten amazingly-rad musicians on the Polaris 2011 Short List (stream all the albums here)! Today we shine the spotlight on Arcade Fire!

Who: Easily the most famous out of all the 2011 Polaris Shortlisted Artists, Arcade Fire became the winning underdog at the 2011 Grammy Awards when their album The Suburbs won for Album Of The Year. The Montreal based bands third album boasted not only an incredible sound, but inventive and impressive music videos directed by Spike Jonze and Chris Milk.

Didjya Know: The bands first album Funeral was inspired by the passing of four of the artists family members within a year of each other.
