Polaris Music Spotlight on Galaxie!

With only a few days days left until one of the coolest award ceremonies graces our site with its awesomeness, Polaris is giving you fine people a sampler of the ten amazingly-rad musicians on the Polaris 2011 Short List (stream all the albums here)! Today we shine the spotlight on Galaxie!

Who: Formed in 2002 in Montreal, Galaxie found that third times a charm with their album Tiger El Diesel getting a Polaris nom. It’s also the first album the band has released under the name Galaxie.

Sounds Like: Karkwa

Didjya Know: Galaxie were formerly Galaxie 500, but had to change their name after discovering another band already had dibs.
