Producer Rob Fusari is claiming that he wrote the Destiny’s Child song “Bootylicious” rather than Beyoncé . Fusari says that in an interview with Barbara Walters, Beyoncé claimed she came up with the idea and wrote “Bootylicious” when really the song was Fusari’s idea.
Fusari explains that he called Beyoncé’s father and manager Matthew Knowles after seeing the interview and asked why Beyoncé lied about writing the song. According to Fusari, Matthew Knowles said, “People don’t want to hear about Rob Fusari, producer from Livingston, N.J. No offense, but that’s not what sells records. What sells records is people believing that the artist is everything.”
There has been speculation before that Beyoncé is getting songwriting credit where it is not due.
