Rage Against The Machine is celebrating after beating out X Factor winner Joe McElderry in the battle for the highly coveted position of Christmas number one single in the UK. Their 1992 track “Killing In the Name” beat out McElderry’s song “The Climb” which was heavily favoured to win the week-long battle. The band will donate proceeds from the downloading spree to a homeless shelter. The win was helped by a grassroots Facebook campaign. The guys say they’ll reunite for a free show in the UK to celebrate their victory.
