Raise A Little Hell With Hellcats On Much!

August 26th, 2010

A brand spanking new show is premiering on Friday, September 10 @ 8PM ET: Hellcats on Much!

Flips, kicks, jumps and cheers – is that all cheerleaders are made of? Oh, and a hot hot booty to boot! There’s a reason there’s a “hell” in the new show Hellcats premiering on MuchMusic!

Hot as Hell factor 1: Bad-ass Marti Perkins was born to be lawyer (catty, bitchy, cutthroat…..exactly!). But after her scholarship at Lancer University get cancelled (and her hard-drinking mother “forgot” to tell her) she’s got to show off her sexy moves to earn a another scholarship for the school’s legendary cheer squad.

Hot as Hell factor 2: These guys do it up all on their own. This ain’t high school – it’s college. There are no parents to bail you out when you can’t deal. What do you do when the girl you hate is the one that can win the competition for the team? What do you do when you’re entire future rests on making sure your squad wins the finals? How do you choose between the guy that’s always been your best friend and the guy you just met? How do you deal with all of these issues and want to kill your new college roommate at the same time?

Click more Hot as Hell reasons to watch, plus a trailer and more cheerleader goodies!

Hot as Hell factor 3: The show promises kick-ass choreographed cheer-routines every episode. Hellcats will do to cheering what Glee did for music! This is the real world of college cheerleading. It won’t be the same old routines you’ve seen in movies – these peeps are in it to win it and know they’ve got to bring everything they’ve got and then some to finals.

Hot as Hell factor 4: The show stars Alyson Michalka (Phil of the Future), Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), and Matt Barr (One Tree Hill). Hellcats is based on the book, “Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders” by journalist Kate Torgovnick.

And let’s not forget the music! Check out these tracks to get you pumped for some hot cheerleading action! What music would you jump and flip too?

Hey Mickey
Everybody Dance Now
When I Grow Up
Boom Boom Pow
Just Dance

Why is cheerleading exciting? Here are a few hot little reminders cheering from the past:

Quinn Fibray (Dianna Argon, Glee): She was the head cheerleader at McKinley High before she got knocked up by her boyfriend’s best friend. She fought to cheer and sing in Glee before her belly got the best of her and she was kicked off the squad.

Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst, Bring It On): Wanting nothing more than for her chance to honourably win a cheerleading competition, she literally helps out her competition to make it an even match (which she then loses).

Britney Allen & Camille (Hayden Panettiere and Solange Knowles-Smith, Bring It On: All Or Nothing): Pulling together two different styles of cheering and culture, the pair manage to beat their rivals and impress guest star Rihanna dancing to Pon De Replay!

Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy The Vampire Slayer): If you battle demons for a living you’ve got to have some fun, right? Too bad the few times she’s been called to cheer she’s either had to stake one of the players, un-possess one of the cheerleaders, or envy the normal girls who take it all for granted.

Shawn Colfax & Nick Brady (Nicholas D’Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen, Fired Up!): Guys can cheer too and get the ladies! The pair joins a cheerleading camp to get out of an otherwise boring summer and land themselves in hottie-heaven!
