Speaking of Maybach Music, DMX will not be signing with them. DMX says he’s setting out to return realness and rawness to hip-hop. “It’s missing that,” DMX said in his traditional gruff tone. “I don’t know what it’s about anymore. I don’t know what (rappers are) doing.” Read more at XXL.
Wale talks about being cocky in his music and signing with Maybach Music in his latest interview with Culture VI. The interview is very heated as they talk about arrogance, confidence, success, and artistry. It’s a fairly long interview but it’s well worth the read whether you like Wale or hate him. Treach, a former friend of the Tupac, co-signs Meek Mill’s “Tupac Back.” Big Pun’s people recently knocked Joell Ortiz’s version of the tribute song but Treach praises the original Tupac version. Treach says that, “Anytime that I hear something that’s on the positive vibe, you can’t hate it. They keeping his name on the streets. It was showing how much he meant to them and to hip-hop.” It seems like the whole hip hop world co-signs it. Read more at XXL.
Chris Brown is going to try his hand at rapper on a new mixtape titled, ‘Boy In Detention.” Brown who just released, “Real Hip Hop Sh*t,” parts 3 and 4 this week, gave us a taste of what’s to come on the mixtape. Brown took to his twitter to tell his followers, “I’m a singer so if this mixtape doesn’t reach your quote for hip hop!
