Before Ludacris releases his 8th studio album, Ludaversal in 2012, he’ll offer up a free mixtape entitled, 1.21 Gigawatts on October 12. Back in July he explained the title of the mixtape was a reference to Back To The Future . He went on to say, “Gigawatts, that equals to a billion watts and so we basically taking it out of control. This whole thing is something you’re going to pump louder than anything you’ve ever heard in your life, basically. It’s definitely for the streets.” Ludacris decided to make this mixtape as an hommage to his fans after all their years of support throughout his successful career. (Via Hip Hop DX)
Just because Beyoncé’s pregnant doesn’t mean she can’t start up her own company, record label, and sign a boy band, which is exactly what she’s doing. She’s also planning to produce and direct documentaries and music videos for other artists. She told the Huffington Post, that “once I know that I have my stuff together and I trust that, I can do it for other artists.” Not even a baby can stop Beyoncé from furthering her career and growing her already massive enterprise. DJ and producer DJ Drama has worked with T.I. for many years and they’re currently working together on T.I.’s next single, which should drop next week. DJ Drama said that once T.I. was released from prison “he’s been in the studio during work time and he’s banging out.” He also said that T.I will be finished his time at the halfway house next week, “so he’ll be in the streets by the B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards.” Hopefully, he will actually make it to the award show and join DJ Drama, who’s nominated for “DJ Of The Year.” (Via Hip Hop DX)
The fast rhyming Tampa rapper Dominique Young Unique released another free mixtape called, Domination and Glamorous Touch. The 8 songs were recorded in both Tampa and London by David Alexander, who has worked with her before. You can download the mixtape over at Pitchfork. (Via Pitchfork)
