Sean Kingston has learned to count his blessings the hard way after he almost passed away from a jet-ski accident earlier this year. Kingston, who actually had open heart surgery, told MTV that you, “gotta count your blessings, gotta be humble, know anything can happen at any moment … your life could be gone like that … you just gotta keep God first at all times and think about the consequences.” Kingston is making a full recovery at his Miami home. Waka Flocka was arrested after police discovered marijuana in his car. Apparently the police smelled the odor of marijuana and found less than 1 ounce of marijuana. Waka Flocka was charged for the weed and failure to wear a seat belt. Read more at HipHopWire.

Cleveland native, Machine Gun Kelly, just signed to Bad Boy and Interscope Records. In an emotional video MGK announces his signing and reflects on his journey to signing. Bun B is returning to Rice University to continue teaching his Religion and Hip Hop Culture in America course for the fall and spring semesters. Bun B tells 97.9 FM, “I’m actually going to be meeting with [co-professor] Dr. [Anthony] Pinn and the H.E.R.E. Project next week actually, and we’re going to be making sure that we have our t’s crossed and our i’s dotted and just getting the last points of the syllabus ready…It’s an incredible opportunity afforded to me, and I just want to make sure I do right by it and hopefully, Rice University and the H.E.R.E.
