RapCity News Round Up: Drake Wanted Bieber To Curse

September 1st, 2011

Drake told MTV her loves Justin Bieber’s version of “Trust Issues” but wishes he used some curse words. Well, we think it’s pretty obvious why the Biebs won’t call women the ever-overused ‘B-word’ but Drake thinks it would have been G. Listen to Justin Bieber’s “Trust Issues” here.

Meek Mill is holding off on an “I’ma Boss” remix in order to get a verse from T.I. Coincidently, the “I’ma Boss” music video just dropped today so it’s unlikely they’ll redo the video. We’re thinking we’ll hear the remix on ‘Self Made Vol. 2’ that will probably hit the shelves sometime before the New Year. Read more at VIBE.

When Kanye comes calling then you better be free. Details, producer of Lil Wayne’s “How To Love”, got a call from ‘Ye to get in the studio with him. He also told Rap-Up that he’s worked with T-Pain, No Doubt, Snoop Dogg, and Drake this past year. But looking to the future, Detail will be working with Mr. West on his next album. Watch the video here.

The Black Keys have second ‘Blackroc’ album sometime soon. The first album was a huge hit and The Black Keys had mentioned they had some left over songs that might make a deluxe version. But apparently they decided to just go all in and produce a full album. The hip-hop/rock album will feature Talib Kweli, Sean Price, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, U-God, Jim Jones, the Cool Kids, and Jay Electronica. Watch the ‘Blackroc 2′ preview here.

Bow Wow apparently loves beef between Lil Wayne and Jay-Z but views it more as healthy competition. Shad tells XXL, “Battle rapping has been going on in hip-hop since it was created. This is something that’s been in our sport for years. Any time you rap, especially for guys, we already feel like we the best, anyway. ‘My car better than yours, my girl finer than yours.’ So, guys, we already competitive as it is. But in this sport, or any type of field where there’s a lot of people that do what you do, you’re going to want to be the best.” Bow Wow probably needs to worry about rappers in his own weight-class.
