August 2nd, 2011

If you haven’t heard Drake’s “Headlines” by now than you’re officially behind. Drake  recently spoke to Billboard’s The Juice and said, “By no means is it the best song on my album, it really is just the song for this moment right now. I always try to put forth a song with a message.” Drake isn’t one to do things the conventional way and put out a real banger but “Headlines” is making headlines and has got people excited. He also says that ‘Take Care’ will be similar to ‘So Far Gone’ and consist of 18 tracks. Read more at Billboard.

Lenny Kravitz next album ‘Black and White America’ features verses from Jay-Z and Drake. Kravitz tells Billboard, “When I wrote ‘Boongie Drop’ I heard a rap in the middle, and I immediately heard Jay’s voice and we had collaborated twice before, so I called him and when I went to New York I put him on the track. And then I got on the phone with Drake for ['Sunflower'] before he had even heard the track and he said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it. I’m a fan and I love your work and I would love to be on it.’ So that was cool.” Read more here and listen to song snippets at Rap-Up.

Rick Ross has expanded the MMG roster once again with DJ Scream. Ross told Hot 107.9 radio that “this is something I’ve never done, but something I’m excited about. Me watching Scream build his brand for the last few years, be a part of some of the dopest projects to come out of the South… I wanted to see the homie make a major debut. Put out an album on a worldwide scale and that’s something we finna do. Imma support the homie on all of his endeavors.” So far Rick Ross has backed some real winners so hopefully this works out too.
