Lil Wayne already set the record for having the most singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 and now he’s set yet another record, a Guinness World Record, that is. Weezy has set the record for having 86 singles on the Hot 100, which is the most rap singles to ever grace the charts. But he doesn’t beat out Glee who hold the overall record for having a whopping 156 songs on the Hot 100. But in all fairness, Lil Wayne will definitely be going down in hip hop history for this one. R&B singer/musician John Legend is making the switch over to television. NBC just picked up Mixed Blessings, a sticom that Legend is executive producing on. According to Consequence of Sound, “the show is partly based on Legend’s early life growing up in Philadelphia.” The plot revolves around “a prominent black rapper who discovers he has a teenage son and his journey to reconnect with the child and his white suburban family.” So far, they haven’t casted the sitcom but once they do, that could make or break this show. Toronto’s own Saukrates announced his long awaited second album, Season One, which he’ll be releasing in three parts. Part One dropped today and Part Two will be released later this year, both consisting of three songs. The third part will be released in early 2012, which is consist of the previous six songs and also include six new songs. Saukrates made a statement saying, “I’ve gone back to the basics… sharing simple melodies and interesting stories is what I’ve always done best and enjoyed the most. When it calls for collaborations I let that happen naturally. Friends and associates I’ve been anxious to work with and vise versa make it easy to accomplish my ‘lofty’ ideas!” (Via Exclaim)Tweet
