This will leave a bad taste in your mouth. The surviving members of Tupac Shakur’s group Outlawz have confirmed rumours that they smoked the late rapper’s ashes way back when. Speaking to Vlad TV, E.D.I. Mean and Young Noble have confessed to cutting 2Pac’s remains with weed and puffing a joint at a beach memorial. Says Young Nobel, “Yes, it’s definitely true. Think it was the night of his… Had a little memorial for him with his mom and his family and shit. We had hit the beach, threw [in] a lot of shit he liked at the beach. Some weed, some chicken wings, he loved orange soda, all that kind of shit. Pac loved that kind of shit, so we were giving him our own farewell and that night, I forgot which one of us came up with it. Had his ashes and shit. […] We twisted up some of that great granddaddy California kush and mixed the big homie with it. Flowing through our system, you heard?” (Via Hip Hop DX)
Bow Wow (a personal favourite of RapCity intern Emily) has been cast to star in a new sitcom being produced by Ice Cube. The untitled show is still in the developing stages, but according to Bow Wow, Jermaine Dupri will be providing the music. “I just spoke with JD yesterday and I got him doing the score and he is actually about to do the music for the TV show sitcom that I am doing with Ice Cube,” Bow Wow told AllHipHop.com. “I partnered with Ice Cube and he is producing my sitcom. I told JD when Will [Smith] had his own show [The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air], Quincy Jones did all the music so it’s only right that he does mine. So I got him doing all the scores to the TV show.” (Via AllHipHop)
DMX just can’t stay out of the slammer. He was picked up on Wednesday by the Department of Public Safety in Arizona, who arrested the rapper (real name Earl Simmons) for criminal speeding, reckless driving and driving with a suspended and revoked license. DMX was sent to jail in December for failing to submit to drug testing and driving on a suspended license. He was released just a month ago and was on probation. (Via My Fox Phoenix)

Hip-hop that can really generate good spirit, the spirit of the music and just good energy,” Common says. “I’m excited about the album. I feel blessed that I got to work with No I.D. I’m enthused to do hip-hop, which is something that I have to do when I feel it.” (Via The BoomBox)Tweet
