- Over the weekend The Game tweeted that he was offering an internship and directed people to call ‘his’ phone, which turned out to be the phone number for a LA Sheriffs Department. The Game could face charges involving obstruction of justice and malicious disruption of communications over a public safety radio frequency. (Via Dose)

- Jay-Z and Kanye West’s collaborative project, Watch The Throne, broke sales records when it was released to the iTunes online store on Monday, August 8th. The LP became the highest selling album in iTunes history, selling 290,000 copies, breaking Coldplay’s record with Viva La Vida at 155,000 copies. Watch The Throne went number one in 23 countries worldwide that day, with final first-week sales being reported on Wednesday. (Via Hip Hop DX)

- In Dave Chapelle’s first interview in five years the comedian talks about Kanye West. Chapelle reminisces about the then unknown MC performing on the Chapelle show in 2004. (Via YouTube)

- After analyzing all the major names in hip hop, Rolling Stone magazine named Eminem the “King of Hip Hop” over other artists like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Drake, Kanye, Nicki Minaj and more. While the list doesn’t measure the all-time greatest artist, it looks at album sales, Youtube views, social-networking numbers, and other statistics to determine who’s on top.Gucci Mane, Kid CuDi, Big Boi, BoB, and Pitbull, among others, made Rolling Stone’s final cut.
