For the fifth year in a row, Record Store Day will happen this April. Actually, it’s April 16th this year.
In case you’re unfamiliar with RSD, it is one day out of the year where “all of the independently owned record stores [worldwide] come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.” These celebrations include in-store performances as well as exclusive releases strictly numbered and limited to indie record shops.
Pitchfork has given us a delicious scoop on one of them. F**ked Up, the band fronted by MuchMusic’s newest VJ Damian Abraham, are hoping to release a companion to their upcoming album, David Comes to Life. According to the site, the RSD exclusive will be “a compilation of fictitious bands from a fictitious British town during the late ’70s and early ’80s.”
