Red Hot Much: Glossier & WordPress-ified!

February 5th, 2009

Well, well. Something sure looks different ’round these parts, doesn’t it?

Welcome to our newly revamped blog! Matt, Nick & Dan have been working hard behind the scenes to bring five years of blogging goodness over from Movable Type to our new home, WordPress. Movable Type had become rather unwieldy and relentless in its unpredictability so it was time for a change.

You’ll notice that it’s now ridiculously easy to leave comments and start up discussions about the stuff we post. No more forced signups or timed out comment forms. We’ve got a search box. And categories and authors that you can actually filter and sort through. Not to mention the fact that you can easily get in touch with the writers through our contact form.

What do you think of our new look? And what kind of things do you want to see MORE of? Let us know in the comments!

Here’s to more posts, more comments and fewer headaches all around! Hello, WordPress: this is gonna be FUN.

  1. Don’t forget about Nick! He designed this beautiful mess.

  2. you’re right! haha, whoops! whoa, i just replied to this comment from the backend without having to go back to the original post - neat.

  3. Much fancier, I like it.
I dont like how you can’t see all the posts on one page, though.
you have to click next, rather than just scrolling down.
    but overall, it’s awesome. :)

  4. Wow, you guys have really done a great job! I don’t know if you know this, but the static files that MovableType wrote out always struck me as odd. I think you guys made a good decision to go with a standards-based Wordpress approach. Of course, it would be better running on Apache…

  5. Nice work! The new blog looks fantastic and is a huge improvement from the previous version. No more headaches for Kat & Wendy!

  6. Wordpress rocks! It’s WAAAY better than the old one - or better yet, Livejournal. Livejournal SUCKS! Wordpress FTW!
