Red Hot Oscar Buzz

* And the nominees for the 2008 Oscars are…

Oh Canada! Both Sarah Polley & Ellen Page snagged a nomination, one for Best Adapted Screenplay and the other for Best Actress.

No Country For Old Men & There Will Be Blood lead the pack with eight solid nominations. Coming in a close third is Tony Gilroy’s Michael Clayton.

There were also a few surprises in this year’s list of nominees including snubs from Amy Adams & Sean Penn & Kiera Knightley (thank god). Nonetheless, I was extremely happy to see that three out of the five nominees in the Best Original Screenplay category were made up of women! Girrlll Power.

* Kirsten Dunst & Ryan Gosling team up for a bloody new movie. I have a sneaking suspicion that Kiki will try to put the moves on the newly single Gosling.

* Coachella’s disappointing lineup. Jack Johnson? Whomp, whomp. Though seeing Portishead would be pretty friggin’ wicked.

* Gisele & Tom Brady party it up next to Gigi’s old flame.

* Don’t read this list unless you want to feel inadequate.

* Not surprising: Amy Winehouse is caught smoking a crack pipe…Why is this so funny?
