It’s a new week with new news, new headlines and most importantly a slew of new tracks ready for your listening pleasure. We’ve combed through the Internet for some of the hottest new tracks and music videos released this past weekend while we were too busy live-tweeting the Golden Globes or obsessing over the return of Girls.
Check out our seven fave new songs and let us know what you think! What are you listening to lately?
Sam Smith — Money On My Mind
We’ve already told you how much we’re in love with British singer Sam Smith’s latest single Money On My Mind, but he has now released a music video for the track. Set in Las Vegas — because where else would you have money on your mind? — Smith’s neon-lit video explores the money-hungry city from gambling to strippers.
Jenny Lewis — Completely Not Me
HBO’s Girls returned last night and with a new season came a promise of new music from some of our favourite artists Lily Allen (more of her to come on this post!), Miguel and Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis. Lewis’ contribution to the third season soundtrack, Completely Not Me can be streamed now over at Entertainment Weekly and whether you’re a fan of Girls, Jenny Lewis or both, this stompin’ new number will definitely get you jazzed for some new TV and music.
Lily Allen — Air Balloon
Lily Allen began her triumphant comeback to music late last year with her single Hard Out Here, and as we inch closer to the release of her full-length (TBA), we are given another sneak peek at a new track. Check out her handclap-happy new song Air Balloon below.
Tokyo Police Club — Hot Tonight
Toronto’s very own Tokyo Police Club gave us a glimpse of their new album a while ago with the epic three part track Argentina (Parts I, II, III) and now they’ve given us some more details about the upcoming album as well as another new song to digest. Head over to Pitchfork now to stream Hot Tonight. Tokyo Police Club’s new album Forcefield comes out on March 25.
Lea Michele — Louder
Glee star Lea Michele is finally stepping out with her own solo album and we were immediately hooked with her first track Cannonball. Michele followed that up today with the stream of another track titled Louder, which you can listen to on Billboard. We’re not gonna lie, this is the best we’ve seen and heard from the TV star since season one of her hit TV series.
Foster the People — Coming of Age
Foster the People are coming back very soon (March 14, to be specific!) and Coming of Age, a previously unreleased track, is the band’s first single off of their upcoming album, Supermodel.
Shakira feat. Rihanna — Can’t Remember to Forget You
Dream collab, right? Shakira teams up with fellow pop star Rihanna to create Can’t Remember to Forget You (a mouthful of a title, huh), which is bound to top charts everywhere ASAP.
