Everyone’s favorite group of high school hooligans are coming back to the small screen, but there’s a twist.
Lifetime announced that they’re making a movie about the making of the 90s sitcom Saved By The Bell. The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story will depict the behind-the-scenes drama on the set of Saved By The Bell. Admit it you’re intrigued. Haven’t you ever wondered if Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris) and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) ever hooked up in real life.
The movie is based off interviews from cast and crew members and Dustin Diamond’s (Screech) scandalous tell all book Behind the Bell. The book does not shy away from all the various trysts the cast got in which include love triangles, drug use, and threesomes. The other cast members in the show have denied Dustin’s claims.
The made-for-TV movie has cast a familiar face for one of the lead roles. Dylan Everett from Degrassi will play Zack Morris’ real life actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar. The rest of the cast includes a mix of relatively known actors and a few newcomers. Sam Kindseth from Shameless will play Dustin Diamond, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones Julian Works is entertainment reporter Mario Lopez (AC Slater), Supernatural’s Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Taylor Russell McKenzie will play Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) and newcomer Alyssa Lynch will portray Tiffani-Amber Thiessen
And while I’m mildly excited for this juicy movie it seems some actors aren’t too pleased with it. Mario tweeted this when the news broke.
