Review: The Kills’ Blood Pressures

April 6th, 2011

Need to know: Alison “VV” Mosshart and Jamie “Hotel” Hince formed their blues and punk infused rock band after disbanding from their separate bands and signing to British label Domino Records, where they released their first album, Keep on Your Mean Side, in 2003. With the impact of their following albums No Wow in 2005 and Midnight Boom in 2008, the duo’s seductive vocals and synthetic beats quickly became the perfect model of cool detachment strived for by many musicians. After taking a break to pursue various endeavours – Mosshart fronting Jack White’s supergroup The Dead Weather, and Hince is engaged to supermodel Kate Moss – The Kills are now releasing their fourth studio album, Blood Pressures.

Via Twitter: Blood Pressures’ tracks are no Sour Cherry (closest is maybe DNA), so don’t bother buying when you can stream for free.

Sample: “Satellite”

RIYL: The Dead Weather, The White Stripes, Blood Red Shoes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
