In support of her Last Girl on Earth Tour Rihanna rocked the Molson Amphitheatre last night in Toronto to a packed house. She wasn’t the only woman on stage getting the mainly female crowd dancing. The Rated R singer featured everyone’s fave glitter/hippie singer, Ke$ha!
Ke$ha opened the show with her hugely successful Blah, Blah, Blah and went on to perform singles and unreleased tracks from her debut album, Animal. Ke$ha entered the stage wearing only torn fishnet stockings, motorcycle boots, gold hot pants and a shredded rock t-shirt, while Flo Rida’s Right Round played over the loud speakers. The song, on which Ke$ha sings the hook, was the first big break for the pop singer who has since gone on to debut at number one on the Billboard chart with Animal.
Although the tour has been plagued with a number of issues, including tour-opener Nicki Minaj dropping out of the line-up and canceled concerts due to poor ticket sales, Rihanna was in fine form last night. Arriving over 45 minutes late to the stage the 22 year-old singer opened the show with Russian Roulette, one of her first three singles from her 2009 release, Rated R. The singer was raised on a platform wearing a black ballgown that was lit up with red lights to match her newly dyed cropped hair. Her gown was removed by her backup dancers to reveal a light pink sequined body suit with military-like shoulder pads that have become a staple of Rihanna’s new look. The Barbados born singer went on to sing hits from all four of her records to a frenzied crowd that was ready to dance all night with their pop princess.
