The Diamonds hitmaker, who has performed seven gigs in seven countries in seven days, ended the grueling run of her 777 shows, which marked the release of her latest album Unapologetic, at the intimate Webster Hall venue in London.
Rihanna tweeted after the show “#777Tour is a wrap! Thanks to everyone who was a part of this. It was an incredible experience for my fans and I! #UNAPOLOGETIC is OWT”.
Rihanna, who has been accompanied by 150 journalists and fans travelling on her private plane throughout the tour, has incurred fines totaling over £200,000 on the road because of going on stage late and last night she took to the stage two hours behind the scheduled start time, but still delighted the crowd with her 70-minute set.
The 24-year-old star had been criticized by journalists on the tour over the lack of time she spent with them, with one Australian reporter streaking through the plane in protest as it traveled from Berlin to the UK, but during the fight from London to New York, she took the time to apologize.
Rihanna said “Guess what, we made it! This has been an experience that I will never ever forget. I barely slept. My sleeping was all done on this plane, I want to thank everyone for making this trip the s**t. I want to see the naked Australian! I was glad I did this, absolutely. Tonight is the night everything we did this week goes off. I know you guys got barely any dirt. But I had to be good. I still sound like s**t. It’s impossible to spend time with everybody, and I’m sorry I didn’t. But this was excellent and I would definitely do it again.” Hey, at least they all got diamonds.
