Rihanna promotes Battleship in London, takes Tube to Drake concert

Battleship stars Rihanna, Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Deckler and director Peter Berg were on hand in London, England this past week to promote their upcoming blockbuster, based on the board game by the same name. The film also stars Alexander Skarsgård and Liam Neeson and is set to hit theatres on May 18.

While in London promoting her first feature film, Rihanna was photographed taking the tube to watch Drake perform at the London’s O2 Arena last night. This isn’t the first time Rih Rih has been spotted taking public transit in the UK, with photographs of the singer taking the tube to her own show at London’s O2 Arena during her Loud tour last October popping up on the internet.

Rihanna explained her affinity for frequenting the London underground tunnel while appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show this month, saying “There is so much traffic, it is an hour-and-a-half approximately to the London O2 every time and it is 10-15 minutes on the Tube. I hate waking up early and I am always late so the Tube is 10 minutes. Me and my fans all went to the concert, that was the coolest part definitely.”

While some may think that a superstar like Rihanna traveling without the security of a bulletproof SUV surrounding her is dangerous, Rihanna says of her trips on transit “I enjoyed it, it was painless. I’m not afraid of interacting with people, it’s harmless. I feel people only act crazy when you treat them crazy.” Well, that’s just cool.
