Rihanna’s 777 Tour is still criss-crossing around the world as the pop star performs seven shows in seven days, but reports of schedule delays, flight fines and general madness among journalists on the plane with the singer are running wild now.
The star’s delays both onstage and off are beginning to show consequences. At her Berlin show last night, the start time was pushed back two and a half hours, leaving fans waiting in the venue and getting angry to the point where they were screaming and booing. One fan even shouted, “Get on the f–king stage!”
Not only has those extra hours pissed off fans, but it’s seriously messing up her very specific tour schedule now. Because Rihanna insists on partying afterwards, flights have been continually rescheduled, costing her up to £200,000 in fines.
“Her team have been making frantic calls throughout the night to the airports,” a source reveals. “Every hour that goes by she has to pay for flight clearance on runways and also incurs costs of the private airport teams, customs, baggage handlers and security.
“The tour will end up costing her a fortune.”
What’s worse is that it’s not just Rihanna and her crew that’s affected, it’s also the large group of journalists who are following her around as she flies across the globe. Reports and Tweets of mutiny and strange food options are surfacing from journalists onboard the flights. There was even an instance where everyone began chanting and an Australian journalist even streaked on the plane.
