After countless parodies and tributes, Beyoncé is ready to retire the famous dance routine from her “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” video.
Known perhaps most as the video that made Kanye West jump on stage and rob Taylor Swift of her moment, the “Single Ladies” dance has been re-enacted by everyone from Joe Jonas and Justin Timberlake with Andy Samberg (along with Beyoncé on Saturday Night Live), to Kurt on a pivotal episode of Glee, not to mention all of the ridiculous amateur videos that popped up on YouTube.
Says a source close to the singer, “Beyonce loves the fact the video and the routine have been so huge and has really enjoyed performing Single Ladies live but that’s it now, she’s moving on. She doesn’t want to be part of a long-term joke. That’s not to say she doesn’t get a big kick out of watching other people do it.”
