Robert Pattinson to star in Water for Elephants?

The rumour mill is abuzz that Robert Pattinson is thiiissss close (thumb and index finger held close together) to signing on to star alongside Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants. The film, adapted from the book by the same title, is set to start shooting in June.
If Pattinson does star in the movie, this would be his third film adaptation of a book (other book-to-movie roles include Twilight and Harry Potter). He’s gorgeous AND likes to read. Swoon!
