With Rogers Presents: Live in the Lot with Coldplay only 13 days away (but who’s counting) we are beefing up our already gigantasorous focus on all things Coldplay. Our most favourite of all favourite bands in the world is releasing a new album on October 24 and we took to the interweb to compile all the deets on Mylo Xyloto (pronounced My-loe Zy-letoe).
While there isn’t much that we know about the tightly guarded upcoming album from Coldplay, the band has let a few nuggets of gold out about the surprisingly titled album. We’ve put together a handy dandy list* that includes facts, rumours and things we’re crossing our fingers for (Canadian tour? Yes please).
Enter for your chance to be a part of Rogers Presents: Live in The Lot With Coldplay this Monday, September 12! Click here for all the deets!
“But What Will We Call Them?” Song Titles
Coldplay hit the festival circuit pretty hard this summer and some lucky ducky fans were privy to hearing new songs from the band. Some will be included on Mylo Xyloto while others were played just to show us how dang talented the band remains.

Producers
The band is teaming up once again with Brian Eno, who helped the Brits pen Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. The band also worked with producers Markus Dravs, Daniel Green and Rik Simpson.
In Their Own Words
Coldplay’s Johnny Buckland has said that Mylo Xyloto shows change in the band by “letting loose musically; louder drums, louder guitars, more contrast. Then we wanted to go down to the most intimate moments, then back to the biggest we’ve ever been. We wanted to contain as many interesting ideas as we could fit into 42-and-a-half minutes.”
GimmeGimmeGimme
Mylo Xyloto will hit stores on October 24 and bring a whole whack of musical goodness. The album will be released in the usual digital, CD and vinyl formats, but the vinyl edition will include a 12″ x 36″ poster. A 12″ x 12″ hardback book will be included in a special edition Pop-Up album, which will also contain exclusive content like photographs, a studio diary and notes from the band’s personal journal. Half of all the Mylo Xyloto CD will show the full cover art, while the remaining half will feature the cut-out artwork as seen below.

On the Road Again
Coldplay’s management has hinted that the band will hit the road for a full tour starting this spring. No word on how many continents the tour will include, but fingers crossed they come back to Canada. As of now, Coldplay is hitting are few cities in the US and South Africa over the next two months. Oh, did we mention they’re playing MuchMusic on September 21? Only fifty times? Ya, it’s gonna be stupendous.
