The much beloved UK trio Saint Etienne have announced their first new album in seven years. Due some time in 2012, the still untitled album marks their first studio album since 2005′s Tales From Turnpike House. As a treat, they’ve given us the first single “Tonight,” a celebratory bit of dance pop produced by Xenomania’s Tim Powell and mixed by Richard X, which picks up from those salad days in the 1990s.
About the track, member Bob Stanley says, “‘Tonight’ is about the anticipation of going to see your favourite group. For some reason, I imagine this show is at the Forum in Kentish Town. The whole album is about the power of pop, how it affects and shapes your life.”
