Attention all shoppers, minglers, students, Zellers Club Members, club kids and precocious kittens, Santogold now goes by a new name. From this day hence, Santogold shall be known as Santigold.

Santi White hasn’t given a reason for the sudden name change, but let’s see here… last year some dude named Santo Gold (Santo Rigatuso) came out of nowhere and filed a lawsuit against Santogold and her label for the use of the name. He’s been using it since 1983, after all. AND he’s made an infomercial, show some respect!

Anyhoods, Santigold already has a new MySpace to reflect the change, and her website will soon reflect the change. It’s always a little jarring when a musician changes their name, but sooner or later you get used to it, ya?
