Sarah: Coffee; Shaun Boothe

February 4th, 2009

Have you ever had a traditional Ethiopian coffee presentation? It’s pretty amazing. Since coffee originates from Ethiopia (named after the Kaffa region) it’s no surprise how good it is. Usually the coffee beans are roasted before your eyes (extra long, to minimize caffeine) then ground and pressed to be poured and served with Frankincense.

I recently had to choose a location for an interview and decided I needed warm, comfortable, beautiful ambiance so I chose my favorite Ethiopian restaurant called Addis Ababa. If you’ve never checked out Ethiopian cuisine you have to… it’s awesome.

Aster, the owner also has a pretty amazing Ethiopian cookbook that you can check out here.

The interview I did was with a Toronto artist named Shaun Boothe who spoke to me about his new 3D mixed tape and his thoughts on Black History Month. He is also behind the Unauthorized Biography series which features 12 videos of 12 icons put to original music written and produced by Shaun. My favorites are Muhammed Ali and Bob Marley but check them all out yourself. Both Ali and Marley’s families have contacted Shaun to offer their gratitude and approval of the videos so I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Look out for my interview with Shaun on MuchNews soon!

Happy Black History Month
