Scott does Rihanna’s 777 Tour – Part 2

Where to start? As you can imagine this is a massive machine we are dealing with here. The label, the media, the fans, the biggest pop star in the world, it’s a little hard to keep organized. And while there were some bumps in the road, the ship continued to move at full speed.

After leaving to go to the airport at 9AM, it was obvious that this was the first event of this magnitude to ever take place. Our bus traveled to one parking lot, then another, then back to the same one, then off to the front gate, then back to the first one. But right before you thought it had “all gone Pete Tong,” we were on the runway boarding the biggest plane I’ve ever seen in my life – VIP style.

Lift-off and we are airborne heading to Mexico City. Rihanna on the plane? Naw, that was a myth, right?Wrong! No longer than 25 minutes in the air and RiRi blesses us with her presence. Giving hugs and drinks to her fans while ignoring the media. Until I flag her down. While you’ll have to wait until the special airs to see what we chatted about, it was definitely a moment I won’t ever forget.

Land in Mexico and we’re on our way to the venue. Mexico City might be the traffic capital of the world as a 30-minute ride took us an hour and a half. No worries, because we make it. The club is rammed, people for miles are trying to get into a show that they never sold tickets for. Rihanna’s here, and Mexico City knows it.

Without getting into detail, I’ll openly admit that the night was insane! Like a mom holding a baby in one hand, Corona in the other, yelling out “O naw naw – Whats my name” insane. This tour has gotten off to a great start and being that we’re back home for the night, in Canada! I can’t see it slowing down!
