We’ve been beaming with pride ever since we heard that Canadian indie-rock heroes Arcade Fire, as well as collaborator Owen Pallett, were nominated for an Oscar this year for their work on scoring the incredible Spike Jonze film Her. If you’ve seen the film — if you haven’t, FIND A THEATRE ASAP — you know that the score totally added a whole other element to the movie and definitely deserves to be recognized.
While we’re still crossing our fingers for Arcade Fire and Owen Pallett to take home the golden statue (the Oscars go down on March 2), you can take a behind-the-scenes look at the scoring process. As you can see in the clip, the band packed into a room filled with recording equipment and instruments to create a magnificent soundtrack while viewing scenes of the movie on a projector screen.
Watch the behind-the-scenes clips below and tell us: do you think Arcade Fire have what it takes to win an Oscar?Tweet
