Before They Were Stars!
March 13th, 2013
After promising fans new music in the coming months, Selena Gomez has delivered the goods. The former Disney actress is continuing her transition into adulthood, first with her new film Spring Breakers, which is set to hit theatres at the end of the month, and now with her music.
Gomez has dropped her band title from her name, now opting to perform as Selena Gomez instead of Selena Gomez and The Scene. The first new track from Gomez in almost two years, Rule The World, hit the web today with a fury. The dance heavy song sounds like it would fit perfectly in a European disco, but Selena’s voice manages to not be overpowered by the bass-heavy single.
Rule The World is definitely a break-up anthem, with lyrics like “Our love was made to rule the world/You left me wanting what we were” sure to illicit rumblings that the song was written with Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, in mind.
Gomez has yet to confirm whether Rule The World will be on her upcoming album, saying that the disc’s lead single, Come and Get It, will be released in April.Tweet
