Serious Tatum and serious Carrell are seriously good in Foxcatcher

July 3rd, 2014

It was the toast of Cannes this year and even scored a Best Director win, and now we’re getting our first look at the gritty drama Foxcatcher. Based on the true story of American wrestlers Dave and Mark Schultz and their paranoid schizophrenic coach John du Pont, the film stars Mark Ruffalo, Channing Tatum and an almost unrecognizable Steve Carrell as du Pont.

The release of the film has already been delayed almost a year, a move that is usually a sign of trouble with early reviews. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Foxcatcher, having received mostly positive press from the elite film festival this past spring.

Based on the autobiography of Olympic and MMA wrestler Mark Schultz, Foxcatcher tells the story of Schultz and his brother Dave and their relationship with millionaire John du Pont. Foxcatcher is set to hit theatres this November.
