Shad gave Billy Corgan a little nudge in the shoulder. The Canadian rapper has released a mixtape named Melancholy and the Infinite Shadness. The record starts off with distorted beats and samples of heavily compressed guitars, taking cue from the Smashing Pumpkin and the rest of the grunge movement. The highlight of the tape, however, is “it ain’t over.” Shad raps over a sample of Lenny Kravitz “It Ain’t Over ‘Till It’s Over,” remembering the 90s with lines referencing Hey Ya!, Friends. The best part of this tape is that it’s free! So go take it, because who doesn’t like free music?!
