Shawn Desman talks ALIVE casting

The brainchild of Shawn Desman and his longtime collaborator and MMVA winning video director RT!, ALIVE is making its television debut on Tuesday, February 5 at 7E/4P on MUCH. The first of its kind, Desman and RT! have teamed up to create a movie inspired by the music of Desman’s fourth album, ALIVE.

The ALIVE special tells the story of Liv, a small town dancer, who dreams of a bigger stage than the community centre of Fergus, Ontario. One fateful night LIV meets her idol Canadian Pop Icon, Shawn Desman, who inspires her to take a chance and chase her fleeting dream all the way to the big city lights of Toronto.

MUCH.com sat down with Shawn and asked him about working with RT!, using Electric/Night Like This as the starting point for the film and cast Degrassi’s Melinda Shankar and Kaitlyn Leeb.
