She & Obama: Zooey Deschanel Gets A Special Birthday Message From The U.S. President

She’s recently single, so it’s no surprise men everywhere are itching to wish Zooey Deschanel a very happy birthday. The New Girl star turned 32 on Tuesday, and one man managed to make headlines sending her a birthday wish. U.S. President Obama sent the She & Him front-woman a special birthday message in the form of a letter.

And he wrote:

As you celebrate this special occasion with your family and friends, please know I am grateful for all you have done to encourage and support young women are making a difference across our country. I hope your day is filled with love and laughter, and I wish you all the best for good health and happiness in the year ahead.

Deschanel has her own site HelloGiggles.com that works with the U.S. government to help women make a difference in their communities. So, with the president looking for celebrity talent to support his re-election campaign, a friendly birthday wish acknowledging her hard work with his government isn’t a bad idea. And she happily tweeted the letter after she got it!
