You may know Sia Furler’s voice from her stint as a vocalist with Zero 7…or maybe you recognize it from the song Breathe Me, featured during a pivotal montage during the series finale of Six Feet Under.

Anyhoodle, Sia’s got a second solo album coming out in the next few months called Some People Have Real Problems , and I’ve been listening to it a lot. It’s pretty standard Sia - breathy vocals, great range - but the songs are a lot poppier than her usual fare. I’d say a few of them are almost Kylie or Natasha Bedingfield inspired.

My favourite song on the new album is a hidden track called Buttons. As I struggled to find a version of it online for you all to enjoy, I came across a promo video for it that is QUITE WEIRD. Kris Moyes, an Australian director who’s also done videos for fellow Aussies Wolfmother, Cut Copy & Architecture In Helsinki, did the video. I feel uncomfortable seeing Sia this way, yet I can’t tear myself from it because the melody’s so great. She certainly has a sense of humour about her appearance.

Sia is a charming, stunning woman and in this video you don’t actually get to see that (her normal, everyday face). Instead, you see warped, scrunched, smushed versions of her face taped together, in a nylon, balloon, wrapped in gauze, etc. It’s almost Aphex Twin-esque; so terrifying! Look at these stills:
