Simon Cowell really wants us to know that Britney Spears is mean

If there’s one thing X Factor judge and producer Simon Cowell wants you to know about the upcoming season of the reality talent competition show, it’s that Britney Spears is mean. No, seriously.

In a press conference for the show, Cowell assures that the mean Britney we see in the commercials is real. “Britney’s quite mean, you’ll discover,” he said. Spears cuts in and defends herself, saying that she’s not mean while fellow new judge Demi Lovato jumped in and added, “She’s a sweetheart who’s very honest,” to which Cowell responded, “As sweet as a lemon.”

Can’t you just feel the chemistry between the judges already!

Cowell goes on to comment on the news of Mariah Carey joining the cast of American Idol, saying, “I like Mariah. I think she’s gonna find it difficult to say no. You have to say no to people. She’s sweet. I’m happy for her.”
