Slash stops by MOD!

March 12th was a special day at Much. I mean, how often does a rock star like Slash stop by? Well, yeah. Slash was on Much On Demand for a solid 15 minutes with MuchMusic VJ Jesse Giddings. One interview, one tophat and one episode of MOD later, and we’re all mega happy with our lives. Meeting Slash – that’s legendary.

Here’s a rundown of how things went down on Friday, after the jump!

Things started out feeling pretty depressing. Everyone in the studio seemed a tad gloomy, even with the knowledge of Slash coming at hand. I guess the insane rain outside could be to blame for that. I guess it was a good thing that Hedley was also at MOD. They totally got the audience pumped up. It was kind of like the hypothermia thing. You’re not supposed to put a hypothermic person into boiling water – they’ll go into shock. Same dilleo here. You can’t go from a depressive state to “Holy shit, it’s Slash” in a matter of seconds. It just doesn’t work like that!

The Hedley boys rushed out, picked up a girl, threw her around like a rag doll, went nuts and then sat down for a short interview. Moral of the story: they got everyone pumped for Slash.

A bit later, Slash was called out and I do mean this when I say this: the place blew up. People were jumping up and down, shrieking, stripping, setting off firecrackers, etc etc. T’was wicked.

Slash and Jesse talked about CMW, Slash’s solo project and Slash in general. It’s clear as to why he’s known as one of the best guitarists to date. I saw at least three people in that studio with tattos of Slash. Now, that’s either dedication or Slash must be an absolutely awesome guitarist. I’m guessing both. During commercial breaks, people swarmed Slash and he was more than happy to chat and take pictures. Seems like he’s a nice guy too. More musicians need to be like Slash.

Yeah. I don’t know. I think I was a little starstruck myself. I was taking as many pictures as I could instead of listening. Oh well.

Slash’s new album, Slash, will be released on April 6th. Make sure to hit it up.
